The Top 3 Reasons Why I Print My Own Postage, And Why You Should Too!
Not that long ago a good friend of mine saw me printing my own postage. He seemed a little bit confused and surprised that I would be doing this from my home computer. We shared a good laugh about the whole situation and then I proceeded to explain why I choose to print postage from my computer.
The first reason revolves around the fact that I really don’t want to have to drive all the way to the post offices every time I need to get some postage. For me, it simply makes more sense to go to my computer and to print out the appropriate amount of postage that all me. So that’s the first reason.
The second reason I choose to print my own postage is because I find the process to be significantly more accurate and under my control then when I go to the post office.
For example, I typically ship a lot of media mail. For some reason, people at the post office or a little bit confused about how media mail is priced. This is sometimes created awkward situations in which I am having to correct postage calculation mistakes that have been made by post office employees. When I print everything from home, I save myself the trouble of aggravation.
The third and final reason that I do this is because I find the process to be significantly more efficient than going to the post office. This may seem a lot like one of the other reasons I cited, but in this regard, I am actually referring to the efficiency that I achieve as a business person who is capable of focusing on what needs to get done while at the same time printing out the postage that I know that I will need to ship certain things.
If I have to leave the house to go to the post office to have my postage calculated, not only does it take time, but it also distracts me and it takes me longer to figure out where I left off when I get back.
That’s why I choose to print my own postage.
